FARA Announces 2020 General Assembly

FARA ANNOUNCES 2020 GENERAL ASSEMBLY
02/11/2020. ACCRA – The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA), in partnership with continental and sub-regional agriculture research organisations, announces the 8th FARA General Assembly under the theme: Institutions, Investment, Impact.
The two-day event which will be hosted online for the first time comes off on the 24th and 25th November 2020.
The first day (24 November 2020) will be a stakeholder conference featuring a valedictory address by Dr Irene Annor-Frempong (Directorate, Research and Innovation – FARA) titled “Unlocking domestic investments to make science and innovation work for agricultural development in Africa”. This will be followed by two sets of two parallel consultative sessions as shown below.

The second day (25 November 2020) will be dedicated to the business session of the General Assembly. This will open with a statement from the President of the African Development Bank. During this session Members of FARA will ratify the appointment of a Chairperson and a new Board of Directors. They will also consider for approval the new strategy of FARA (2019-2028) and proposed amendments to the constitution of FARA.
